Warner Brothers is continuing to greenlight and make new films based on the heroes of the DC Comics universe and it looks like the studio has found a new writer for the character of Supergirl.

According to Deadline, Warner Brothers has tapped writer Oren Uziel to write the script for the Supergirl movie. Supergirl would join the growing group of DC Comics films currently in development including The Flash, The Batman, The Joker and Birds of Prey.

Oren Uziel has an impressive list of writing credits to his name including penning the scripts for 22 Jump Street, Freaks of Nature, Shimmer Lake, The Cloverfield Paradox and more. He is also credited as writing the screenplay for the now filming Sonic the Hedgehog movie as well as the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot.

It is unclear if Henry Cavill’s Superman will appear in the film or if the long gestating Man of Steel will be happening anytime soon, but the film is currently in the script phase with no producer attached, so who knows what we might see.
