The Rundown: Wolverine is sent to bring down an old friend keeping a dangerous secret.

It’s the end of a long night and a local barkeeper is closing for the evening to let the two mutant children he has hiding beneath the place out to get some food before someone arrives to help smuggle them out of the country. After seeing a plane overhead, he hurries the kids back under the bar before he turns to see Wolverine waiting to kill him.
As the two begin to fight, Creed remembers the promise he made to Logan if he were ever captured and forced to be what he’s become. As the two continue to fight to the death in what starts to look like a stalemate, Natasha arrives and manages to incapacitate Wolverine long enough for Creed to subdue him.
The Story: Condon creates some great moments for Creed and Logan in this issue. This is what I was waiting for when the confrontation was teased last issue and I was satisfied with how different this version of Creed is. There are some deep emotional moments layered into the brutal action and each moment builds on the intensity and drama making it impossible to not want to see and read more. I love the cliffhanger at the end of the issue and what it could mean for both the character and the resistance itself.
The Art: Lins brings a new and interesting style to this issue. I liked it a lot and how it visually softened the character of Creed while maintaining the sharp lines and visual menace of Logan.
