After the news that Melissa McCarthy is currently in talks to take on the role of Ursula in Rob Marshall’s upcoming The Little Mermaid adaptation, there is now news that two more stars are in talks to appear in the upcoming film.

According to Deadline, Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina is currently in talks to take on the role of Scuttle in the film. Scuttle is an albatross who, often incorrectly, explains to Ariel what objects in the human world are used for. The late comedian Buddy Hackett provided the voice of Scuttle in the original animated film. Awkwafina’s next role will be in the upcoming Jumanji: The Next Level.

Jacob Tremblay is in talks to take the role of Flounder in the film. Flounder is Ariel’s best friend and a tropical fish who, despite his fearful nature, is always willing to follow Ariel on any adventure. Tremblay rose to stardom with his performance in the movie Room and has appeared in films like The Predator and Wonder. His next film is the comedy Good Boys.

The composer of the original film, Alan Menken is set to return to write new songs with Lin-Manuel Miranda and the film will be directed by Rob Marshall.
