The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently filming in locations around the world and now there is news that two Marvel Cinematic Universe stars will be joining Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on this new adventure.

Vulture has confirmed that Samuel L Jackson will be featured in the new Spider-Man film as master spy Nick Fury. The last time we saw Nick, he was becoming a victim of the snap heard round the universe in Avengers Infinity War, but the character did manage to signal another Marvel hero before becoming dust in the wind. Jackson’s Nick Fury will feature prominently in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie starring Brie Larson so it will be interesting to see how Fury makes his way to Peter’s Parker’s European trip.

Also confirmed to be joining the film in Europe is Cobie Smulders reprising her role as super spy Maria Hill. Hill also didn’t survive the snap and having the two of them together in the post credit scene in Infinity War puts their appearance in Far From Home under an interesting microscope. Will the events of Far From Home happen before or after the events of Infinity War? Could the pair being together at the end of Infinity War be because they concluded their mission in Europe with Spider-Man before he and his class returned to New York? I guess we’ll have to wait until Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out to find out.
