As Raven and Garfield run through the house to try to escape from Trigon and Dick, Donna and Kory try to find a way to enter the barrier keeping them from the house.

At the same time, Jason has Wayne Manor to himself with Alfred and Batman off with the Justice League, so he’s surprised to find Hawk and Dove in the house looking for him. When they meet up with Kory and Donna at the house, Trigon lets them come in so that he can systematically take them the way he did to Dick.

This first episode of season 2 felt like two different episodes. With all of the build up in season 1 for the battle against Trigon, this episode wrapped that story up a little too abruptly. It was done effectively, but I was expecting more of a payoff. The second part of the episode dealt more with Dick coming to terms with his past and sitting down with Bruce Wayne (Iain Glenn) to have a heart to heart before taking his new team to their new headquarters.

The Bruce/Dick moment was really well done. The acting was great from both parties and it was interesting to see Glenn in the role of Bruce Wayne. He didn’t play him as the brooding loner. Instead, he seemed to be a normal guy having a father/son conversation. It was different, but not entirely unwelcome.

The rest of the episode was a lead in to the big bad for this season and it will be interesting to see how the inclusion of the character effects Dick and the new Titans. The first episode of season 2 of Titans felt a little rushed and uneven, but there are a lot of moments throughout that make me interested in seeing where the story goes next.
