The Rundown: Thor’s hammer has fallen to Earth and the God of Thunder has a favor to ask.

Broxton Oklahoma is no stranger to Asgard so when Mjolnir lands in the middle of a field in the small town, a local man finds his home the center of attention after calling it in. With a media frenzy surrounding the area, Tony Stark flies in to find out what the problem is. What he discovers is something that is both funny and unexpected.

Beta Ray Bill has been called in by Thor for a meeting. With things already tense between the former allies, the meeting turns to the question of Thanos and his possible return. Thor decides to confide in Bill about the strange visions he’s been having before making a request of Bill. A request that is tied to both the visions and his difficulties with Mjolnir itself.

The Story: The best thing about this issue is that, despite the seriousness of the subject matter, Donny Cates still allows for the story to have humor throughout. I love the fact that Thor is taking pre-emptive action and that he is not above having a little fun at a friend’s expense. There is a lighter tone to this story than the previous arc and I enjoyed the fact that this story engages the reader and prepares him or her for what is to come.

The Art: Aaron Kuder does some amazing work with the art in this issue. The visuals are stunning and the characters look fantastic. The art perfectly captures the tone and mood Cates has set for the story. A great looking issue with some awesome detailed panels throughout.
