The Rundown: In order to save the universe, Thor will have to fight one of his best friends.

In the aftermath of Galactus’ destruction of a peaceful world with Thor’s help, Beta Ray Bill arrives to free his brother from the creature and he will fight him in order to do so. Thor and Bill face off in an epic battle that sends Bill crashing into an exploding moon. As the battle rages, Thor tells his friend that Galactus is not in control of him and that his actions are his own choice.

Enraged, Bill fights harder and a battle over Mjolnir ends in destruction as Thor does something dramatic. An act that prompts the intervention of another familiar face who wants the fight to end.

The Story: Donny Cates crafts a story that is pure action and as fun as it is visually, it doesn’t move the bigger story along in a way I found satisfying. The intervention at the end of the issue is well done, but the objection of the character involved was never revealed earlier, so it just felt heavy handed and convenient.

The Art: Klein delivers some beautiful art in this issue. The battle was beautifully detailed and thrilling. I love the visual style Klein is utilizing in this series. A great looking issue.
