The Rundown: Thor travels the realms to stop a dark prophecy but finds death everywhere.

With the prophecy hanging over his head, Thor travels to Nidavellir to discover a scene of horror and death. Thankfully, he will not have to face this journey alone as his father Odin joins him on his quest. To make things worse, the dwarf who forged Mjolnir is among the dead and the secrets he has have gone with him. Their quest is not without its interpersonal issues as Thor confronts his father about the role he has played in the events that they find themselves in.

The pair find themselves transported to Jotunheim to speak with Loki who shows them the destruction Mjolnir is leaving. As the three gather, Thor demands to know the truth about the god of hammers. After learning the prophecy, Thor is summoned to another scene of destruction and finds himself facing something he never imagined.

The Story: Cates delivers some great drama throughout this issue. The interpersonal drama between Thor and Odin continues to be both tense and intriguing. The plot is engaging across the board. There are great moments with each character, especially Loki. I liked seeing Loki act as peace maker. The revelations are surprising and they lead to a fantastic cliffhanger.

The Art: Klein delivers some fantastic art in this issue. There is an intensity to the story and characters which Klein brings forth in every panel.
