The Rundown: Thor is trapped. Donald Blake is on a rampage and Jane Foster seeks the man responsible for everything.

Thor is trapped and unable to escape as Donald Blake continues his assault on the World Tree in order to take its power. With the rest of the Asgardians banished to Hel, Jane goes after the person responsible for all of this; Odin. Instead of a god and former king, she finds a broken man drinking himself into oblivion in the depths of space. Her confrontation with the man reveals his weakness, but the promise of battle perks him back up and he goes after his armor.

At the same time, Sif, Bill and the rest of the Asgardians look for a way to escape when a miracle in the form of Doctor Strange and his new friends coming to rescue them. Unfortunately, that rescue will require working with Loki despite their fraught history. As the forced align to take down Blake, Odin reveals to the man that his assault on the world tree will have consequences he never imagined. Consequences that come barreling in ready for a final fight.

The Story: Cates ramps up the tension, the action and the drama in this issue. The opening is brilliantly done. It was both poignant, sad and engaging to see what has happened to Odin. What makes it even better is Jane not giving him an inch when confronting him with his own actions. The story is consistently compelling and there are some great character moments throughout as well as a great balance between the characters.

The Art: Nic Klein delivers some breathtaking visuals throughout this issue. There are some great action beats and character moments that catch the eye.
