The Rundown: Katie discovers that her birthday trip to Vegas with her sister will reveal some dark history.

It’s Katie’s birthday and her sister has brought her to Vegas to celebrate before meeting with the family for an important meeting. Unfortunately, her sister Anna notices something about the stripper and the two are in the fight of their lives as people emerge to kill them.
On the run and running out of options, Anna tells her adopted sister the truth about her life, their family fortune and her connection to a truce that has lasted for thousands of years before the return of something that threatens to throw everything off balance.
The Story: The writers craft a thrilling, action packed story in this first issue. There is some great lore being created in the story alongside the immediacy and thrills of the action. I loved the progression of action and adventure throughout the story as well as the twists and turns the story takes. There are two reveals towards the end of the issue that surprised me and the twist towards the end of the story makes me excited to see what happens in the next issue.
The Art: Le delivers beautifully detailed and stylish art throughout the issue. I love the art style of this issue and how it balances the beauty of the characters and the brutality of the action.
