A man named Azim finds himself at the heart of a cruel experiment after his former boss confesses to ruining the man’s life. It’s a harrowing interlude that concludes with a brutal act that is meant to clearly establish who the villain is in this issue. After the attack on the space station and its subsequent explosion, Nathan and Amanda find themselves crashed on Mars and trying to make their way to civilization.

Their journey brings them to a city and if there was any chance of the pair quietly making their way somewhere safe, it went right out the window when the pair of them are identified on television and a kill order is given. Everyone with a weapon comes gunning for the pair as they have to make a dramatic escape from the scene to stay alive long enough to contact someone. What’s even worse is that the President is on the hunt for them as well and the mistrust the pair has causes Nathan to take matters into his own hands.

Weatherman continues to be a compelling, broad and immersive action thriller. Leheup is crafting a great story with some really interesting and compelling characters that are all flawed in their own ways. It’s hard to find someone to root for when everyone has some blood on their hands. I like the moral ambiguity of many of the characters as well. There’s nothing cookie cutter about the characters in this series and their complexity is what draws me in as a reader.

Nathan Fox’s art is sublime in this issue. Every page is framed perfectly to the narrative moment and when the action heats up, the art follow suit with moments of awesome, frenetic visuals that take the reader inside the action. I absolutely loved the pacing of the action scenes in this issue and the story continues to keep me riveted because it pushes the boundaries with art and story each issue.
