The Rundown: The Ultimates go looking for a power that even Banner might fear.

Tony Stark brings a small group with him including She-Hulk, Hank Pym and a friend of Luke Cage’s named Danny Rand on a trip after telling them the story of a warrior named Shen Qi. A warrior who managed to use and utilize the power of chi to help defend the weak and take on armies of demons and more. When he decides to stop fighting, he meditates for decades and worshippers gather around him and his teachings until he is finally brought down by opposing forces.
Believing that the warrior has been reborn as a child, the Ultimates go looking for him because his presence is a threat to Banner and his immortal warriors. When the Ultimates find the child under threat, they go into action fighting one of Banner’s gamma warriors to the death while the child merely watches and connects with Danny Rand.
The Story: Camp creates an interesting and engaging story in this issue. I like seeing the story begin in the past and focus on the lore of the character and it will be interesting to see how that lore informs this new character in this new world. I also really enjoyed the action throughout the issue and the final moments of the story are brutal, intense and interesting. I like where this story continues to go, but it does seem to be taking a while to get there.
The Art: Randal crafts some beautifully detailed and visually compelling art throughout the issue. I love the visuals and how stark and dramatic they are.
