The Rundown: Swamp Thing travels to London to deal with the remnants of an old war.

Levi Kamei leaves his friend’s home and returns to his own contemplating whether or not he should distance himself from her in order to keep her safe. Unfortunately, the call of the green transports him from New York directly to London. At the same time, Sierra uses her gifts to call for help and it arrives in the form of John Constantine. Sierra is unable to find her friend and needs John’s help to escape the building she’s trapped in. After using some magic to scare away the guards, they both realize that there is a darkness to the building and the people within it.

When they finally locate the possible source of the darkness, Swamp Thing is there. Together they determine that a remnant from the war is what is effecting the people around it and the two must work together to enter the past and not only remove the man connected to the device, but the device itself. Unfortunately, Amanda Waller is hatching a plan to bring Swamp Thing to her so she can use him for her own purposes.

The Story: Ram V crafts a deeply moving and entertaining story in this issue. The Swamp Thing/ Constantine relationship is always interesting and the story not only gets it right, but makes me want more. Constantine’s bravado and attitude are the perfect counter to Swamp Thing’s often dour personality. This was a truly enjoyable issue with a great story and characters.

The Art: John McCrea does an excellent job with the art in this issue. There are so many visually stunning moments and the style of the art captures the mood of the story perfectly.
