The Rundown: After Ernie changes the world, he decides to fight to keep it the paradise he imagined.

After getting dropped into the moon ray, the resulting beam turns the entire world into a scumbag paradise filled with sex, drugs and rock and roll. While Ernie believes this is the best of all possible outcomes, Hive and Mary want to reverse the effects as soon as possible because a world populated by Ernie’s is a recipe for global disaster. Unfortunately, Ernie decides the opposite and goes on the run.

With everyone hunting him down, Ernie takes a desperate trip in an unknown machine that sends him back to Earth right before his first mission. Unfortunately, it sends him back as a foul mouthed kid. A kid who decides if he’s going to save the world he’s created, he’s going to need a group of the most disgusting humans imaginable to defend it.

The Story: Remender crafts an intensely hilarious story that is morally bereft in the best way possible. There is so much fun to be had with every twist and turn of this story and this issue is fascinating in how far it goes both thematically and narratively. Everything in this issue is big, brash and intense. Remender brings so many different elements to the story that all work in funny and completely unpredictable ways. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Wayshak delivers some beautiful, strange and delightful imagery throughout the issue. Each page is filled with brilliantly off the wall visuals and perfectly captures the excitement and tone of the story.
