The Rundown: Daisy’s attempts to settle back into a normal life will be complicated by a drive to return to the scene of tragedy.

Daisy is meeting with a potential client named Leland Black who sent her the puzzle box she recently solved. He wants to work with her on a new installation with him and she agrees to take on the new challenge even though the red visions consuming her continue. As a gift for accepting his offer, Black gives her a new puzzle to solve.

On her way home she runs into a mysterious old woman who knows about the Red Mother and when she flees, she is confronted by her therapist and the officers investigating the disappearance of her boyfriend. In a bid to confront the visions and dreams, she returns to the scene of his disappearance only to be confronted by an army of followers of the Red Mother and the strange entity stalking her.

The Story: Jeremy Haun continues to craft a haunting and engaging story that keeps the reader on edge. As Daisy works to unlock the puzzles she’s being sent, the puzzle of her own life continues to unfold for the reader and her journey gets progressively more complicated and intriguing as her role in the Red Mother’s plans remains a mystery. I enjoy the slow build this series is taking because Haun is building his world through Daisy and he is allowing her to develop into a three dimensional character with a journey worth following.

The Art: Danny Luckert masterfully captures both the quiet, character driven moments as well as moments of disturbing terror. The panels are beautiful to look at and the story comes to life with Luckert’s art, especially the tension filled moments at the end of the issue and the final reveal.
