The Rundown: Sam fights to save her daughter as Duncan makes a sacrifice to help them escape.

While Duncan is being attacked psychologically by another creature, Sam is determined to rescue their daughter and she is close to succeeding. Penny’s nightmares continue to fight to help the parents while the man who betrayed them tries to stop them.
Sam finally gets the upper hand and rescues Penny as her nightmares help the family escape. Unfortunately, their journey to freedom is not without risk as their means of escape is attacked and Duncan must make the ultimate sacrifice in order to give his wife and daughter a chance at freedom.
The Story: Johnson crafts a thrilling, intense and compelling story in this issue. The action was intense and the drama was brilliantly engaging. I felt every moment of tension with the characters and loved the buildup of suspense as well as the stakes involved for Sam and Duncan. This story continues to impress me with great writing, characters and action as it builds to a dramatic and tragic cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Johnson and Rossmo deliver beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visuals within this world and the world being created. The action is visually intense and perfectly captures the tone of the story.
