The Rundown: Shang-Chi is brought in to retrieve a dangerous item, but he is not the only one searching for it.

Shang-Chi is in London visiting an old friend. An old friend who happens to be an MI-6 agent who needs his help. What she needs is for Shang-Chi to steal an ancient sword that steals the souls of the living before it is auctioned off to a private buyer. To make matters worse, he only has one night to break into the museum and steal the item which is under heavy guard.

After breaking into the museum, Shang-Chi finds it virtually deserted. As he investigates further, he discovers why. He isn’t the only one looking for the sword. Lady Deathstrike wants it too and she already has it in her possession. Shang-Chi will have to fight the cybernetically enhanced villain for control of the sword, but it might be powerful than either of them thinks.

The Story: Alyssa Wong crafts an entertaining story in this first issue. It has a great pace, premise and plot. It moves smoothly with the action, but takes time to emphasize the characters and their personalities. I liked the self contained nature of the story as well the seeds planted for other stories to come. A great adventure with awesome action and dialogue.

The Art: Andie Tong delivers imagery with beautiful style and energy. The action is brilliantly paced and there is a fluidity to it that almost brings it to life.
