The Rundown: Sonja is reborn after being tested by Scathach. Prince Ederik and Princess Zaria find themselves in an unexpected situation.

Sonja has an interesting conversation with someone. Soon their true identity is revealed, and an altercation occurs. Afterwards, Scathach sends Sonja on a mission. Sonja then narrates her journey back to the mortal realm. Elsewhere, Ederik bemoans his losses. After Tuma leaves in search of Sonja, he and Princess Zaria search for a safe haven. However, the two quickly find themselves in a dangerous situation.

Later, Tuma finds Sonja and takes her somewhere to recover. But they are attacked, and Sonja is injured. While she tends to her wounds, Tuma heads off to find the prince and princess. He returns with unsettling news, and then he and Sonja set out on a rescue mission. Finally, and encounter with the Darkland people leave the duo in a compromising position.

The Story: Sonja finds action and adventure wherever she travels, and this story is no different. There are some really interesting scenes where she is tested by opponents both physically and mentally. And the narration during her return to the human world was well handled. The chapter ends with Tuma and Sonja battling some rather unworldly looking creatures, and I am curious how they will fare against them. I am also interested in the well-being of the prince and princess. I’m sure the next episode will provide some action packed and interesting answers to those questions.

The Art: The illustration in this issue features a traditional, yet youthful design. Although the colorwork is generally muted, there are some warm elements infused situationally. Overall, I feel that the artwork matches the tone of the story.
