Last week director Justin Lin announced that he would be leaving the production of the latest Fast and Furious sequel Fast X as director and Universal has set its sights on his replacement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has tapped director Louis Leterrier to direct the upcoming film with Lin staying on as producer. Details are still being worked out between the director and the studio, but production could resume in a matter of days if things work out.

Leterrier is the director of films like The Incredible Hulk, the first two Transporter movies (with Fast and Furious star Jason Statham), both Now You See Me action adventures as well as Clash of the Titans and its sequel. He was also one of the creative forces behind Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. He recently completed the action comedy The Takedown starring Omar Sy.

Fast X will reunite franchise star Vin Diesel and crew with newcomers to the franchise including Brie Larson (The Marvels) and reportedly Jason Mamoa (Aquaman 2).
