McGee remembers back to when she and her father first encountered the Hulk. She remembers the look in his eyes as he destroyed their house and she can recall how those eyes are different than the ones she sees in front of her. These eye are full of rage, but also harbor a dangerous calm.

Hulk, McGee, Betty and the rest of the ragtag group of allies he’s gathered have stormed Shadow Base to end Fortean and his threat once and for all. Using the attack as a distraction, McGee, Betty and Rick confront Dr. McGowan as Fortean and his soldiers start taking out the invaders once at a time. When Hulk finally confronts Fortean/Abomination, the General decides to use the creatures powers to finally bring down Banner. Unfortunately, he’s going to find out too late that underestimating the Hulk is a dangerous thing.

The Story: Al Ewing continues to take Banner’s story in some unique, brave and shocking places and this issue is no exception. There are some great moments throughout this issue and telling the story from McGee’s perspective is perfect. There is a moment where Hulk compares Fortean to Ross that is chilling in its execution. A great read filled with tension and suspense.

The Art: Joe Bennett goes for the jugular visually in this issue. There are some intense body horror moments throughout and the final page is both beautiful and visceral.
