Batman and Gordon continue their investigation at Arkham after Bruce deploys drones to watch both the building and the city. Both Bruce and Gordon disagree on what their next move should be, but Batman is convinced that the villain will slip up and make a mistake.

When Scorn decides to send a rocket propelled message to the pair, Batman must work fast to stop the attack. In the aftermath, Bruce and Alfred discuss the best way to find Scorn and an idea comes to the Dark Knight.

The Story: Ellis does a good job of putting Batman on the defensive and seeing how he reacts to that state is interesting. Unfortunately, at this point I was expecting more from the story. The dialogue is great, especially between Bruce and Alfred. Their back and forth is the highlight of the issue. Alfred challenging Bruce creates some great intellectual and philosophical moments for the character. The rest of the story tends to drag as we see Bruce finally start to work things out, but get no sense from the story how he does it.

The Art: Bryan Hitch has a lot of work to do in this issue and the art meets the challenge. There are a lot of explosions throughout this issue and Batman gets thrown around a lot. Hitch does a great job of bringing that to life with moments that make the reader almost feel the pain Batman is experiencing.

My opinions about the man are separate from the story and I choose to keep them that way. You are absolutely allowed not to and I do not begrudge you for it.
