The Rundown: A new adventure for the Dark Knight will take a dark turn.

Alfred continues a constant vigil for those he cares for as he methodically cleans the graves of Thomas and Martha Wayne and thinks about the danger his son is in every night of his existence.

Batman begins a new investigation when he discovers the body of a man seemingly obsessed with the Dark Knight. After recreating the crime scene, Bruce returns home to be confronted by Alfred. The butler tries to convince Bruce that there is something wrong with the way they have been living, but Bruce dismisses him and begins his investigation. An investigation that will put him in the mindset of the victim and lead him to a tragic and disturbing revelation.

The Story: Warren Ellis has crafted a dark and disturbing first issue of this series. The plot is fantastic and the way it lays out is pitch perfect. The writing is amazing and the dialogue between Alfred and Bruce is great. I was impressed with how this story unfolded and the ending was both shocking and satisfying.

The Art: Bryan Hitch has some awesome art in this issue. The characters look great and all of the details in the panels are eye-catching.
