The Rundown: Peter finds himself competing with a familiar face for the title of New York’s Spider-Man.

After a nightmare, Peter decides to spend some time alone to get himself together before facing the people who want to talk about what happened to Harry. As he prepares to swing out into the city, he finds his contemplation interrupted by another Spider-Man taking to the skies. Confronting the imposter takes an unexpected turn and Peter finds himself captured and left on a roof alone. After returning to the university, Peter has a run in with none other than Ben Reilly and the two go off to have a talk.

Ben reveals that he has a new job with a company that’s been acquiring tech from all over including Peter’s former business. He also reveals one of the things they acquired is something Peter never thought he could lose. In the aftermath of their conversation, Ben returns to his home and his new life and wealth while Peter is confronted by MJ about his recent loss. In order to avoid the conversation, Peter heads out to stop a crime in progress and finds himself battling alongside Ben who has a distinct advantage.

The Story: Wells crafts an interesting and unique story for Peter in this issue. It does a great job of touching on some of the previous arcs and the parallels between Peter and Ben’s lives is entertaining. Seeing Peter continue to struggle through life while his clone is having all the success is a bitter pill to follow for fans of the character, but it makes for some great drama for the series and this arc. I’m intrigued to see the true scope of Beyond’s role in this story and how it will affect the drama to come.

The Art: Gleason delivers some beautifully bright, vibrant and detailed art throughout this issue. The action is thrilling and the human moments are engaging.
