The Rundown: Peter confronts Kindred and discovers his old friend has different plan for him.

Kindred has been revealed and Peter refuses to believe that one of his oldest friends has become his deadliest enemy. Unfortunately, Kindred won’t let him forget who and what he has become and the two clash with Peter believing that this is just another fight with a villain he’s beaten before. A belief that will be proven false in a series of violent and devastating lessons for the hero.

In the aftermath, Peter is shown a vision of his sins and when he sees Morlun fighting Sin Eater, he knows something is wrong. Goaded by Kindred, he realizes that not only are his friends walking into a trap setup by the villain, but that someone he loves could be caught in the crossfire.

The Story: Nick Spencer raises the stakes for Spider-Man in this issue and continues to craft a story with some dark twists and turns in it. The plot is well executed and I was pleasantly surprised with how brutal things got for Peter in the story. The story is highly engaging and well crafted for fans of the character and his history. I found myself more invested in the story, its characters and its resolution.

The Art: Mark Bagley delivers some stunning visuals in this issue. Everything looked amazing and there are some truly brutal, yet beautifully styled imagery throughout this issue.
