The Sin Eater confronts Norah Winters outside Ravencroft with a message he wants spread throughout the city. A message that will call others who feel the same way he does to join him in his mission with the promise of power. Spider-Man is concerned, but discovers something dark at the heart of what happened to Overdrive.

When the message gets out, people begin to flock to the Sin Eater seeking to join him. When Peter spies on the proceedings, he decides to intervene when someone comes to the killer looking for his sins to be healed. Spider-Man discovers that the Sin Eater has taken more than his enemies sins, he’s taken their power and he has a new target. One with a connection to Spider-Man.

The Story: Nick Spencer writes a story that is intense. This dark storyline is well done with moments that are both surprising and relevant to the world we live in now. There are some interesting parallels to society and the seduction of disaffected people. There is also an interesting moment that showcases the media’s responsibility when it comes to elevating certain messages to the populace. The story is also filled with great action moments and a cliffhanger ending that has me excited for what’s to come.

The Art: Marcelo Ferreira brings some serious intensity to the art in this issue as well. The action is dynamic and the characters are filled with detail. There is a serious tone to the art that reflects the serious tone of the story.
