J Jonah Jameson has been offered a new position at an online new agency that doesn’t exactly report what’s true. It’s a bit of a culture shock for Jonah, but what makes it worse is that these young “reporters” have been inspired by his single-minded obsession with making Spider-Man look bad. Even after telling his new boss that he isn’t doing that anymore, the world tests him with footage of Spider-Man robbing a bank.

Jameson goes after the wall-crawler determined that there is a good explanation for his behavior and there is, but it involves a secret SHIELD mission and Peter’s sister flushing out more associates of Chameleon. At the same time, The Foreigner has infiltrated an illegal gambling establishment and sees how it is connected to events as well.

The Story: For all the huge stakes in this issue and the action, Nick Spencer finds the time to continue to tell a fun story for Peter. Utilizing the strange and tense new friendship between Spidey and Jameson was masterful and gave this issue a whimsical quality that made it incredibly fun to read. As heavy as things have been getting for the character, it is always satisfying to be brought into a lighter story and Spencer does that through the dialogue and with moments in the plot that playfully skewer the current state of internet journalism.

The Art: Coello brings a lot of excitement and energy into the art in this issue. There is a lot going on and all of the action has a sense of movement and momentum that captures the eye.
