The Rundown: Jon finds himself taking on a despot who is ready for him.

A family dinner where Jon introduces Jay to his grandparents takes a dramatic turn when Jon notices almost too late that the house is falling apart around them. After getting his grandparents to safety, Jon will discover something he didn’t know about Jay during the attack. When the Justice League arrives to protect the home, Jon will have to work fast to stop them from hurting someone in need. After talking to Jay and some of his friends, Jon takes their evidence that something is corrupt in the country of Gamorra.

After taking the evidence to his mother, Superman decides to pay the country a visit. After talking with its leader, Jon is more determined to discover what he is hiding. When a call for help reaches Jon, he races to the rescue only to discover a devastating trap.

The Story: Taylor starts this tory off with an emotional and exciting action sequence and keeps the tension going throughout the story as Jon learns more about Jay and discovers a bigger conspiracy at play. I like the characterization of Jon in this issue and how he is continuing to mature and evolve as a character. The moments between him and his mother stand out. I also like that there is more to Jay than meets the eye regarding his plans for Jon. I really enjoyed the ending and am interested in seeing where the story goes next.

The Art: Daniele Di Nicuolo’s art style works brilliantly with this story. The energy of the action comes across in the art and the details are amazing.
