The Rundown: The Unity Saga concludes in triumph, tragedy and possibility.

Superman wonders what will happen now and his curiosity extends beyond just what happens to Rogol Zaar. His father has been imprisoned and a group of intergalactic teenagers has come from the future to recruit his son. It’s a lot to deal with and the intervention of his friend Adam Strange will bring some things into perspective. As he tries to determine what will happen next, Jon has a lot on his mind and everyone is wondering what is going on with the Legion of Superheroes because they might have jumped the gun with their arrival.

With everyone coming together in the spirit of friendship, Superman will have to reconcile not only his long-standing rivalry with Zod, but also the sentence handed down to Jor-El from the powers that be. A sentence that will have a tragic symmetry for the man of steel.

The Story: I really enjoyed how this story wrapped up so many dangling plot threads that have been in play since Bendis took over the title. Rogol Zaar has been neutralized, but remains a threat, Zod continues to work towards bringing forth a new Krypton and Jor-El manages to find a moment of peace. It looks like Bendis has more story to come for the Superman family and it will be interesting to see what story unfolds next.

The Art: All of the artists contribute some amazing visuals to this issue. All of the moments I want to talk about would spoil key plot points so I’ll recommend reading it yourself.
