Whether he is crafting huge blockbusters like Jurassic Park or intense dramas like Schindler’s List, Steven Spielberg is a master at helming interesting films with talented casts. His next film looks to be no different.

An all-star cast has been lined up to join the Bridge of Spies directors next film ‘The Papers’. Formerly known as ‘The Post’, the film centers on the Washington Post’s decision to release the controversial Pentagon Papers in 1971 (The Pentagon Papers were a report prepared by the Department of Defense that showed that the government was systematically lying to the American people about the motivations, tactics and potential outcome of the Vietnam War.)

Tom Hanks (Sully) and Meryl Streep (Into the Woods) have already signed on to the film to play Post editors Ben Bradlee and Katherine Graham, who have to go to battle against the government over the right to publish the controversial report. Joining Hanks and Streep in the ensemble will be Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Jesse Plemons (Fargo), David Cross (Arrested Development) and Alison Brie (GLOW).

The film is currently in production with an expected limited run in theaters December 22 in time for Awards season. The film will see a wide release January 12, 2018.
