The rebels escape from Hubin is going to get more complicated when Scar Squadron descends on the planet to collect Leia, Han and Luke.

Leia and Han have been stunned and Luke has challenged Kreel to a duel. With lightsabers at the ready, Tula plants one on Luke and gives him a clue as to what he should do next.

After finally getting the point as the duel begins, Luke makes his escape to the woods with the Imperials in pursuit. Tula uses the moment to free Sana and revive the other Rebels before sounding the alarm to evacuate the moon.

As Luke makes his way to the rendezvous point Tula gave him, he and Thane Markona finally get to the truth of who he was and why he chose to help the rebels in the first place. They come to an understanding as the Thane makes the ultimate sacrifice to both free his people and give the rebels time they need to escape.

This is a great issue. Gillen captures some amazing action and drama in this story. I liked the idea that Luke was being schooled the entire time he was on Hubin. It helps to bridge the gap between who he is as a young rebel and who he will become tempered by his experiences. The side stories are well done, but brief and the focus on Luke makes this issue work.

The art is stellar in this issue and there are some dynamic and beautiful panels throughout that are vibrant with shadow, detail and action.
