The Rundown: Starlight Squadron works to find a way to escape an Imperial ambush while Lando makes a decision about his allegiance.

After being ambushed by the Empire, Starlight Squadron is in the fight of their lives. After destroying their droids, they have no way of jumping into light speed and the Tarkin’s Will is getting closer with every minute. It will take a bold plan from Wedge and Shara to give them a chance of escaping, but not everyone will make it out safely.

At the same time, Lando confronts Leia and Kes about the toll translating the stolen droid’s data is doing to Lobot. Unable to disconnect the two without sacrificing the rest of the fleet, Leia comes up with a plan that might free Lobot before it is too late, but Lando has other ideas and lashes out in an attempt to save his friend. When things get worse for Lobot, Lando makes a decision about where his loyalties truly lie.

The Story: Charles Soule combines action adventure and thrills in a story that is exciting and filled with tension. The pace is what works really well in this issue as the action of Starlight Squadron’s attempts to escape from the Empire are intercut with Lando’s desperate attempts to save Lobot. Both sides of the story work well to emphasize the stakes the characters are dealing with.

The Art: Jan Bazaldua does great work with the art in the issue. Not only are the characters expressive and well detailed, but the action works to with the battle inside the Star Destroyer hanger. There are some thrilling panels to be found in this issue.
