The Rundown: The Enterprise travels to a planet covered in ice to find a missing research team.

The Enterprise has been on a series of missions that many, especially the crew, would call boring. Pike orders the ship to head to a new system and a starbase that will give the crew some rest and relaxation, but Chapel is itching for some excitement while Una wonders if she is becoming boring.
When Christine receives a message from a friend doing research on a planet covered in ice, the Enterprise diverts to the planet only to discover that no one is on the base. After finding evidence of a hurried mission beneath the surface, the away team along with the base’s android, suit up and head to the dark waters below to find the missing research team and what caused their disappearance.
The Story: Thompson crafts a fun and entertaining story in this issue. The story begins with a fun premise and I like the focus on Una and Christine as the plot evolves. The humor is a little too much at times and takes away from the suspense and stakes of the environment, but there is a better balance of those elements towards the end of the issue. The story has an interesting mystery at the heart of it and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Mercer delivers beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the character designs are fantastic.
