Nightwatch was first introduced in Web of Spider-Man in 1993. Nightwatch is the code name of Dr. Kevin Trench. After witnessing a costumed hero killed in a battle with terrorists, Trench removes the man’s mask to find a future version of himself dying. He puts on the suit later and is given superhuman strength, speed, agility and the ability to become invisible as well as shapeshifting.

Nightwatch made sporadic appearances in the 90’s and had his own short-lived title until it was canceled. He would resurface in 2014 in the She-Hulk series, having his story retconned to make him a supervillain.
