Anyone who saw Spider-Man: Far From Home this weekend was treated to two incredible and different scenes after the film was complete. You can read my thoughts on the mid-credits scene here, but I want to focus on the post credits scene that potentially changes everything about a certain character as well as how you remember the movie itself.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME

In the post credits scene, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) are driving through the city having a discussion when Fury invariably drops his disguise and the two are revealed to be Skrulls Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and Soren (Sharon Blynn) from Captain Marvel. As the scene progresses, it is revealed that the former SHIELD director is on his own vacation in deep space on what looks like a space station being built by the Skrulls.

With the threat of the Kree still looming and the mention of Kree sleeper cells operating on Earth, it’s likely that Fury has been spending his time post “Blip” working on a means of monitoring and identifying current and future galactic threats. With Captain Marvel traveling off-world and Thor joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, the threats they could discover will require Earth to be ready. With the Eternals set to make their debut in the MCU, their enemies the Deviants will surely follow as their civil war has spilled over onto Earth before.

Fury’s new base of operations might just be the suit of armor around the world Tony Stark envisioned as the expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe produces new threats to the planet.
