The Rundown: Peter must deal with his fears for the returning Mary Jane while a new threat emerges with Spider-Man in his sights.

After months of searching and fighting, Peter is reunited with the real Mary Jane, but the shadow of what happened before still haunts him as she proposes to the man she loves and he hesitates out of fear of losing her again. At the same time, a shadowy figure moves through the city watching Spider-Man in action and returning to his father to report on their target.

When MJ and Peter decide to get married for real, they invite Anna over for dinner only to have it interrupted by Kaine who kidnaps Peter in the name of his father Morlun. An act that will have unexpected consequences when Kaine feels a power from Spider-Man that he’s never felt before.

The Story: DeMatteis crafts a fun, thrilling and entertaining ride back to the world of the animated Spider-Man series from the 90’s. It has enough of the nostalgic elements to keep me invested while also adding new and intriguing elements that grabbed my attention. I like the new threat being introduced in this series and cannot wait to see how it plays out for both Peter and MJ.

The Art: Towe does an amazing job of capturing the visual style of the animated series while also enhancing and elevating it with the action and character moments.
