The Rundown: Shang-Chi finds undoing the business of his father’s organization and leading a normal life to be more than difficult.

Shang-Chi is trying to find a rare moment of peace after his latest adventure, but the demands of dismantling his father’s criminal organization will make that extremely difficult as he tries to have a date. His little sister decides to remind him of his responsibility in a dramatic way. A way that will get the attention of Spider-Man. After a tense introduction with Shang’s sister, Spidey asks to tag along on their case because it intersects with one he’s working on.

After tracking the drug back to its source, Spidey decides to check out the area with Shang in tow as Esme decides to confront the owner. After discovering where the drug came from and what it is designed to do, the shop owner goes on the attack. After discovering the scope of the operation, Shang-Chi will find himself facing down a friend.

The Story: Gene Luen Yang crafts an incredibly fun and entertaining story in this issue. The dialogue is definitely one of the most engaging elements of the story and the banter between Shang and Esme is amazing. The action is fantastic. There is a great energy to this story and it is compelling. I love the fact that Shang is dealing with so many complicated elements to his life and the story makes everything so interesting that I want to see how the story evolves and continues.

The Art: Dike Ruan delivers some beautiful imagery throughout this issue. The action scenes are beautifully detailed. The characters look great and the environments draw the eye. A fantastic looking issue.
