Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos made an announcement regarding one of the studios’ biggest hits in recent years; the sci-fi thriller A Quiet Place. The film, co-written, directed and starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, has been one of the biggest hits that the studio has had after a rough year at the box office with films like Baywatch and Downsizing not really catching an audience.

Gianopulos announced that a sequel to A Quiet Place is moving forward at the studio. The screenwriters Bryan Woods and Scott Beck have expressed that there is plenty of material left over from the first film to justify a sequel. The first film deals with a man (Krasinski), his expecting wife (Blunt) and their two children trying to survive in a world where any sound you make can bring on an attack from creatures attracted to sound.

A QUIET PLACE

A Quiet Place has taken in over $213 million dollars worldwide on a $17 million dollar budget and beat out potential blockbusters like Rampage and others.
