Pat Rothfuss’ classic novels are coming to the big screen and it looks like Lionsgate has found a director.

According to both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate has tapped director Sam Raimi to direct the big screen adaptation of The Kingkiller Chronicles. Hamilton mastermind and recent Grammy winner Lin Manuel Miranda signed on as the Creative Producer and will be composing the music, writing original songs and possibly creating a stage show based on the film trilogy.

The Kingkiller Chronicles tells the story of fictional musician, wizard and adventurer Kvothe as he recalls his fantastic adventures to a Chronicler. He tells the tale of his tragic childhood and how he overcomes his past to become a household name.

Sam Raimi is known to movie fans for his films including the original Spider-Man trilogy, The Evil Dead and its sequels and Drag Me to Hell.
