Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola has a new film that was recently purchased by Netflix for distribution titled What Happened to Monday. This thriller stars Noomi Rapace, Willen Dafoe and Glenn Close in a dystopian future where the government has limited the amount of children allowed per family. A doctrine fiercely enforced by Close’s character Nicolette Cayman. When a man (Dafoe) discovers that he is the grandfather of seven identical girls, he hides them away, teaching them himself. After naming each girl after a different day of the week, they are allowed to go out into the world only on the day of their namesake and under the identity of Karen Settman (Rapace).

Their world is turned upside down and into turmoil when Monday fails to come home and the sisters decide to venture out to find out what happened to her. The screenplay was written by Max Botkin and Kerrt Williamson. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.

Set in a not so distant future burdened by overpopulation, with a global one child per family policy, seven identical sisters (portrayed by Noomi Rapace) live a cat-and-mouse existence pretending to be a single person to elude the Child Allocation Bureau.
