The Rundown: The convoy makes it to Luna, but getting in and out will prove harder than they expected and deadlier than they imagined.

Val and her convoy have made it to Luna, but Piper is troubled by dreams of what might happen when she inputs the code from her grandmother and Blacktop Bill’s ominous message to her. Val has a plan to enter the base using Bill as bait and makes Piper stay in the rig so she can run when they get the coordinates they need.

As the group makes their way into the base, Bill confronts his former boss to get the info they need, but their escape is cut off by the return of the other Nocturnes who have come to take their revenge. As both sides prepare for conflict, Piper does something unexpected. Something that will put the entire base and everyone in it at risk.

The Story: Snyder ramps up the tension in this issue as Val and the others have to go to some extreme and dangerous lengths to infiltrate Luna while trusting in Bill to do what he’s told. I love that the story is shifting perspectives to Piper because her conflict with Bill is one of the things driving the story forward in new and exciting directions. It’s going to be interesting to see where the story goes from here.

The Art: Daniel delivers some wonderfully detailed art on every page of this issue. The characters are dynamic, the action is thrilling and the Luna base has this wonderful, industrial look that conveys the tension of the story.
