Esquire magazine published the original story In The Tall Grass from horror legend Stephen King and his son writer Joe Hill. Now Netflix is gearing up to bring that story to life in their latest collaboration with the legendary writer.

After hearing a young boy’s cry for help, a sister and brother venture into a vast field of tall grass in Kansas but soon discover there may be no way out… and that something evil lurks within the tall grass.

According to an exclusive in Deadline, Vincenzo Natali is directing the film which is about to begin filming in Toronto. Westworld star James Marsden was expected to take a lead role in the film, but scheduling conflicts kept him from coming on. Aquaman star Patrick Wilson has taken the role. Joining Wilson in the film are Laysla De Oliveira (Code8) and Harrison Gilbertson (Picnic at Hanging Rock).

In The Tall Grass is expected to be released in 2019 by Netflix.
