Marvel Comics

Written by Saladin Ahmed

Letters by Cory Petit

The Rundown: Miles is captured by his clones and they intend to make him pay.

After finding their hideout, Miles proceeded to destroy all of the equipment they stole. Unfortunately, he is captured in the process and discovers that he destroyed the cure that is keeping them alive. After telling Miles their story and their connection to the Assessor, Selim decides that if they are going to die, then they will destroy Miles’ life before they go. Starting with going after Miles’ mother.

As Miles tries to find a way to escape, one of the clones questions whether or not it can trust Miles to help them find another cure. Miles tries to convince Shift to help him and when he finally escapes, he heads straight to the hospital to protect his mother. After taking on Mindspinner, both Rio and Miles realize that the fight was a distraction while Selim decided to take his revenge home.

The Story: Ahmed does a brilliant job of moving this story beyond Miles as the character has to confront the repercussions of his actions. Selim is a credible and interesting threat to Miles and does a great job of ramping up the tension throughout the issue. The pace of the story is great. The dialogue is refreshing both in Miles’ conversation with the clones, but also with his mother. There are awesome character and plot moments throughout and I loved the twist at the end of the issue.

The Art: Carnero delivers some powerful and beautifully detailed art throughout this issue. I love the visual style and both the action and character moments look amazing.
