Commercial and music video director Dennis Liu created a comic book series in 2015 called Raising Dion. Now it looks like that concept is coming to Netflix with some impressive star power attached.

Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Fantastic Four) will executive produce the series Raising Dion for Netflix. Jordan, who stars in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Black Panther will also star in the series in a guest role. Here is the original announcement commercial Liu made for the comic book series.

Raising Dion is the story of a young widow who discovers that he son has superpowers. In order to protect him from people who might want to hurt or exploit him, she takes it upon herself to teach Dion about how and when to use his abilities as she tries to determine where they came from. Michael B. Jordan will play Dion’s deceased father Mark in the Netflix series.

Creator Deenis Liu released a statement talking about the 10 episode first season. “I started this project many years ago because I wanted to see more diverse representation on film and television and I’m excited to partner with Netflix and MACRO, who I know shares that commitment,” he said. “More than ever, we need more stories told from different points of view and my hope with Raising Dion is to create a cinematic experience for all families that will lift your spirits and make you laugh and cry.”
