The sequel to Captain Marvel is moving forward at Marvel Studios with the announcement of a new cast member.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has tapped actress Zawe Ashton to star opposite Brie Larson in the upcoming sequel. Her character is currently unknown in the film, but she will be playing the main villain according to reports. WandaVision story editor Megan McDonnell has written the script for the film with Nia DaCosta (Candyman) attached to direct.

Zawe Ashton is known for her roles in series like Not Safe For Work and Wanderlust as well as films like Velvet Buzzsaw.
