The Rundown: Leviathan makes its next move, but a new group is forming to oppose it.

In the aftermath of Leviathan’s play, Mark Shaw returns to his organization to find out what happened and how everything went wrong with their ultimate plan. With the truth revealed, he appeals to his loyal followers to trust in him as the next stage of their plan is about to begin.

At the same time, a mystery man has freed Steve Trevor from government custody and given him the opportunity to make things right by taking down Leviathan. In order to match the organization, this new group will have to recruit an unusual group of operatives if it plans to be effective, but bringing together a group that includes The Question, Green Arrow, Lois Lane and Talia Al Ghul is easier said than done.

The Story: Brilliantly told and expertly unveiled, Bendis begins a new and bold arc for these characters and the fight against Leviathan. After having the fight go as big as Superman, it is welcoming to see it scale down in this manner where it’s operative vs operative and organization against organization. Even the way Bendis evolves Leviathan is brilliant and I had Talia’s reaction when I read it. I am intrigued with this story and its characters and cannot wait to see where and what twists it takes next.

The Art: Alex Maleev delivers some impressive art throughout. There are some great panels throughout that showcase both the beauty and scale of the environments and every panel has a beautiful sense of artistry to it.
