The Rundown: A small group of villagers find a small coffin and opening it could be dangerous.

A group of villagers walking through the woods during the holidays and come across a carriage that has crashed and spilled a small coffin out onto the ground. As the villagers prepare to take the coffin and its occupant back to their town, they are interrupted by an undead priest who warns them about the evil they are carrying.

When the young vampire Leonide reveals herself, she calls on the help of her father to capture the priest and spirit him off to an abandoned estate where the ghosts of the past will reveal something interesting for the season.

The Story: An entertaining, intense and immersive read from Mignola. The story has a great sense of character, an immersive environment and a spirit that is great for the season. I love the way the characters navigate the world and each other and everything comes together in a way that leaves me wanting more adventures from both characters.

The Art: Aragno delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue and crafts some thrilling and heartwarming visuals. Mignola creates a beautiful epilogue that is visually stunning.
