The Rundown: The Time Trapper seeks help from the League while Darkseid’s effects continue to grow around the world.
Time Trapper is being chased through the time stream by Darkseid’s Legion and is critically injured as he attempts to seek help from the Justice League. After crashing into the Watchtower, Wally seeks help from Martian Manhunter, Niles Caulder and Metamorpho to find a way to stabilize the creature while Mr. Terrific attempts to interrogate a parademon who can speak and the trinity deals with their own issues, namely the Air Wave situation.
Geo-Force attempts to save people from a fissure in his country with the help of other League members and they discover something dark at the bottom of a potential fire pit. Terrific discovers that the parademon is hiding a deadly secret and Time Trapper’s injuries could literally destroy the Watchtower if they can’t find a way to help him.
The Story: Waid continues to craft a sublimely thrilling, dark and enjoyable story in this issue. I love the action, thrills, revelations and dangers throughout the story as Waid brilliantly manages to weave in so many different characters and give them all purpose within the narrative. There is a wonderful level of suspense to every moment in the story and I love the last few pages and panels and how they set up some intense moments to come.
The Art: Mora’s art is absolutely stunning. I love the visual style of the series and the character designs are amazing. Everything is beautifully detailed and drew me visually into every page and panel.
