The Rundown: With the multiverse erased, a small band of heroes will discover the power to rewrite the universe.

The Justice League and its multiverse allies take on the powerful copy of Amazo and as they fight a desperate battle, one of them realizes that they are too late. In the aftermath, the universe is erased and a small group of heroes floats in the darkness protected by John Stewart’s power ring. As anti-life creeps in on the heroes, Batman reminds Wally about the power of the speed force. As the heroes work to prevent themselves from meeting the same fate of the universe, J’onn reveals that the key to saving everyone lies within one of them.

As Martian Manhunter releases the energy necessary to save the multiverse, Batman sees the toll it’s having on one of the heroes and does something unexpected in the hopes of bolstering the power of life. Unfortunately, Amazo II has been watching events unfold and decides to step in to stop the heroes from undoing its work. Work that will find itself being interrupted by an unlikely person.

The Story: DeMatteis and Tucker bring this story to a satisfying and entertaining conclusion. Both the personal story and the stakes of the plot are engaging and I liked the fact that this issue was told from Batman’s point of view. It not only gave a different emotional level to the story, but it also showed an evolution of character that was intriguing to see and experience.

The Art: Beavers delivers some great visuals on every page of the issue. There are great character moments and the style of the story is engaging.
