The Rundown: With the battle turning against the League, Detective Chimp might be the only one that can save them.

The battle to bring down Perpetua’s throne takes a hard turn as Mindhunter and the Omega Knight strike hard against the Justice League. With Martian Manhunter in agony, Mindhunter goes after Kendra in an attempt to use their relationship to force Manhunter to give him access to the League’s mental connection.

At the same time, Nightwing and the rest of the team recovers from the Omega Knight’s attack, but have no idea how they are going to get close enough to Perpetua’s throne to free the Legion of Doom. Detective Chimp will come up with the answer using his skills and the team prepares for a counter assault against the creature as Kendra and J’onn work together to fight the Mindhunter using a shared weakness.

The Story: Joshua Williamson does a great job of bringing the story to a head while effectively utilizing Detective Chimp at just the right time. I liked both the heart and humor in this issue and how they didn’t take away from the stakes of the story. Kendra and J’onn’s battle was compelling and the use of the Mindhunter was done well. I really enjoyed the build up of the story and how it came to a not wholly unexpected cliffhanger.

The Art: Robson Rocha delivers some beautiful imagery throughout this issue. There is some epic action from the Omega Knight battle that looks amazing and Rocha always impresses me with both the character details and the rich, engaging backgrounds. Adding to the impressive imagery are some amazing, vibrant colors from Romulo Fajardo Jr.
