Professional wrestler and actor John Cena is showing a different side of himself in the first trailer for the animated movie Ferdinand from Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios (The Peanuts Movie).

Cena will voice the lead character Ferdinand the bull. Based on the classic children’s tale The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf, Ferdinand is a gentle Spanish fighting bull who would rather smell the flowers and play with the young girl who is his friend than fight in the ring. When he gets into an accident that people believe to be him acting aggressively, he is taken to fight in the arena.

Ferdinand also stars Kate McKinnon (Rough Night), David Tennant (Doctor Who), Gina Rodriquez (Jane the Virgin), Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer), Gabriel Iglasias (Magic Mike XXL) and Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect 2).

Ferdinand charges into theaters December 15, 2017.
